Final course reflection blog post

Overall, there are so many exciting Web 2.0 tools that I can utilise. The possibilities are endless and exciting.

The Bloom's Digital Taxonomy Map is a wonderful tool for integrating the Web 2.0 tools into the curriculum. I'll be printing out a copy for the classroom!

The E-learning iLE@RN model focuses on engaging students and teachers in learning and an evolution of teaching and learning practices. Developing an engaging learning environment is the essence of the E-Learning framework.

Our school is currently in the process of rolling out ipads with students. This Web 2.0 course has been a terrific way to prepare for this. At our school, we are implementing the SAMR model. We are using this to implement this new technology and for assessment and reporting purposes.

Web 2.0 Online Course Module 10

In Module 10, I revisited the Wikis. I have already completed PD on this and have had my own class wiki for two years.

The interesting part of this Module was the part about nings. This community based network is great for teachers who want to utilise Web 2.0 tools with their classes. Kids can produce and upload their own videos on here. It could become a second classroom! Students ownership of their learning increases as a consequence. Powerful stuff, isn't it?

Web 2.0 Online Course Module 9

I have been using Facebook and Twitter for years now, along with Instagram. Not sure of the benefit or appropriateness of using them with primary aged students. I think it would be good to use to network with like-minded professionals though.

Scootle is a wonderful educational website I regularly use to locate relevant learning objects to engage my learners in different areas of the curriculum.

Out of everything in this module, I benefited most from the information on LinkedIn.
I think it's going to be a great way to become more resourceful and connect with people who can help you with specific questions you may wish to ask related to teaching.

Web 2.0 Online Course Module 8

In Module 8, I learned more about RSS feeds. I use an RSS feed on my blog through Bloglovin which keeps up to date with my favourite fashion sites.

I signed up to Feedly through Google which was an absolute cinch!  This is terrific tool for storing your favourite websites etc..

The links were interesting, in particular the Podcast link. I can easily see myself doing lots of PD by listening to heaps of educational podcasts.

Web 2.0 Online Course Module 7

Module 7 related to setting up a Delicious account to store favourites was something I haven't looked at before.
It's very user friendly and easy to set up an account.

Not sure how I could integrate this yet, but possibly to find educational sites?

I have already had experience related to leaving comments on blogs as I have my own fashion blog- fortheloveofaudrey.com

Web 2.0 Online Course Module 6

Module 6

This module covered pictures and videos from Google and Google+. I am experienced in searching for photos and videos, so most of this module was familiar to me.

In Google+ you can upload photos and share them with chosen circles. There is a new edit button with more options which allow you to change the contrast and crop and rotate.

Picassa didn't seem to work. I was informed that it requires updating.

Web 2.Online Course Module 5

Module 5

An interesting module, where I looked at bubbl.us, which is mindmapping resource.
You can create an account free of charge. I can see the value in applying this to my teaching. the kids would really enjoy making concept maps for their units of work.
