We 2.0 Online Course Module 4

Module 4

This module is so interesting!

Regarding Podcasts, I love listening to a fashion-related one where the hosts set up interviews with fashion designers, stylists and the like.

I like the idea of podcasts for use in education. You can download them onto your PC or even  a portable device for ease of use. Great portability! Anyone can subscribe so that's cool too.

On ABC Austalia's website, I was surprised by the number of podcast topics available. I'm certain I would be able to find plenty of educational topics for both teaching and learning.

Regarding Vodcasts. They're new to me. I actually didn't realise they were available, but technology is moving at such a fast pace, that it doesn't surprise me in the least. Vodcasts are actually a combination of podcasts and videos.

I went onto www.schooltube.com-there I found a substantial anumber of videos from stduetn snad teahers aorund the world. One student did a report about dogs. It gave me an idea that I could video my students' oral presentations about their animal for our living things topic.

Web 2.0 Online Course Module 3

Module 3 was all about creating and collaborating using online applications.

I haven't used Google drive before. This was very interesting. I can see the potential in using this for teaching-especially when sharing resources, ideas, etc...

I'm excited at the thought of collaborating using Google drive.

It was really easy to add a document to share on Google Drive.  The set up is quite similar to blogging actually.

Web 2.0 Online Course Module 2

This module was really easy for me as I have been blogging since November, 2011.
I can see how blogs can be very useful in teaching. In particular, I can see blogs being used to share teaching ideas and strategies.

In relation to Twitter, I have been using this social networking tool for a couple of years now. I think that it would be a great tool for keeping afloat of new teaching initiatives, sharing ideas and strategies, and so forth.

I look forward to learning new things during this course.

Web 2.0 Online Course Module 1

In Module 1, I have learned that Web 2.0 enables us to keep connected using a variety of tools, one of which is Google +.
The links to YouTube videos were really helpful, especially for learning about Google+.

I have an existing Google account but did not know much about Google Plus. Now that I do, I feel more confident and up-to-date.

What excited me the most was learning that on Google+ I can stay connected to my work colleagues. I see this application as a step forward in collaborating together.
